Chapter 80 Enlightenment on Soul Mate pt 3 (Daiki)

Sitting in a lotus position, Daiki felt his Soul call him.

"This was the same feeling when me and the Rainbow Scaled Fish met." Daiki said inside his Soul.

Looking around he saw the fish looking up and he looked also. He saw Kaede almost peering deep within him.

"Well, this is a new subject." Daiki said.

"The two of you are both getting enlightenment. Everyone gets different enlightenment and this Soul Mate enlightenment is not different." The Rainbow Scaled Fish said.

Looking at his Soul Tame, Daiki tried to figure out what was going on. Knowing that each person receives enlightenment differently. He began to wonder how his was working.

"So tell me, what should I do?" Daiki asked.

"Focus on her. Her growth matters more in the long run than yours." The Rainbow Scaled Fish said.

He began to call out to Kaede but nothing happened. He felt alone for the first time in a long time.

"I cannot remember the last time I was alone." Daiki said.

When the words came out his vision went dark and the world seemed to spin at a fast rate.

He watched his wife make the choices she made. From the beginning to the end. Every life and death, Daiki felt his heart hurt. He knew his wife better than what he thought he did. He had already suspected each action she would take.

He did not get to see the finale.

"Her growth matters?" After watching the play by play action. He felt his Soul was the one in need of growing.

"If I am to become her Soul Mate. My Soul should be stronger. It is not because I want to devour her Soul but I am the man. My pride will not allow myself to be weaker than my wife." Daiki said.

"Your Soul is already stronger than hers. If not then we would not be Soul Tame and Master." The Rainbow Scaled Fish said.

"It is not a matter of my Soul Strength. It is a matter of my Soul. If I could already guess the actions she was going to do in her choosing. How am I to guess what actions I would take?" Daiki responded.

"What actions would you have done instead?" The Rainbow Scaled Fish asked.

"First off, I would do more to make my Kaede stay in the cave. She should live on for Rex's sake. She would eventually die of a broken heart, I know. I would want her to live for his."

The Rainbow Scaled Fish appeared confused. Why would he want his wife to live for their son's sake? This question began to bother the fish. The more he thought about it. The more he began to question his life cycle.

"Weird. I know I found the right Master to learn with." The fish thought.

"What about the first choice?" The fish asked.

"I am still thinking about it. The third choice I do not even understand what the principal behind the entire encounter myself."

Hearing his Master not understand the principal of the matter. The fish began to play it over again for Daiki.

Daiki watched closely as he and his other wife both gave each other everything that mattered to them. To their son, nothing but garbage and death. Daiki watched closer to it and each time began to play it from the beginning.

He would pause it when Rex would wake his wife up.

"Something here is wrong to begin with." Daiki said.

The fish began to think about it. He did not understand how his Master found something wrong with the beginning of the enlightenment.

"What is wrong here?" The fish asked.

"First off, Rex knows not to enter our bedroom. Second, he looks like he is 5 or 6. Third the look in his eyes is eating at me." Daiki said.

The fish began to see Rex from Daiki's memories. The fish could instantly see the difference himself. This made the fish worried.

"Master, we need to stop now." The fish said.

"Why is that?" Daiki asked.

"That is the reasoning for her enlightenment. She needed him during that to make her enlightenment become true. The first two were not about the choices but to catch her off guard." The fish said closing his eyes shut tightly.

Daiki looked back and saw something different. The look of a Reaper was in front of him. Daiki stomped his foot and glared back.

"IF YOU DARE TO HURT MY WIFE! I WILL NOT SPARE ANY EFFORT AND GETTING YOU KILLED. I, myself, am too weak to do it. That does not mean I cannot watch as you die." Daiki told the Reaper.

"Greetings Mortal Cultivator." The Reaper said.

Hearing the deathly voice, Daiki wanted to run away. Due to the way this guy manipulated his wife in her enlightenment. Daiki was not going to stand down.

"Congratulations on making an enemy. What say we make a bet?" ^⁠_⁠^ The look on the Reaper's face.

"Sorry but I do not want to make a bet. I prefer to handle stuff like this myself." Daiki said.

"The bet is nothing personal just a simple yeah or nah will do." ^⁠_⁠^ The look again after speaking.

"Tell me the bet and I will decide." Daiki said.

:⁠-⁠D The face from the Reaper.

"Since you found me during enlightenment. I will grant you the face of learning the bet I want. If you win, your Soul will gain three times the strength that even the greatest people here have. If you lose, you lose the right to Soul Mate and Tame." The Reaper had a horror smile on his face.

"I know what the rewards are and they are tempting. What is the bet on?" Daiki asked.

"The final choice of your beloved wife." The Reaper said.

Hearing that the final choice was at stake. Daiki began to sweat profusely. He wanted to see the final choice but his heart did not. He knew what the question would be about.

"Let me take a ponder. The final choice is about why she killed herself." Daiki told him.

"Bravo! Winner." The Reaper said.

"Since I won that, I want to keep my Soul Tame. If I still lose, I will accept the loss of Soul Mate." Daiki said.

Hearing the bet get changed. The Reaper gladly accepted the proposal.

Daiki watched the final screen pop up with Kaede talking to the Daiki there. When it came to hearing her words, the Reaper stopped the vision.

"What would be her answer?" The Reaper asked.

"Our son is a treasure. She would rather kill herself than allow our son to die." Daiki answered.

The Reaper looked at Daiki. Even though it was not the complete answer it was the short answer.

"Congratulations. You have an amazing woman. I cannot fathom how long you two have been together." The Reaper started.

"20 years." Daiki said.

The Reaper looked at Daiki and felt wrong.

"You have only been together for 20 Years?" The Reaper asked.

"We dated for a month before she proposed and three months later we got married. We had been childhood friends since we were 3." Daiki said.

The Reaper felt his heart had been pierced with affection. He never knew how much love could ascend a person till now.

"Well, your enlightenment was different from hers. Do you want to know why?" The Reaper asked.

"Sure." Daiki replied.

"The male in a Soul Mate has the power to look inside his wife's Soul. If he finds a wrong in there, he has the ability to wipe the Soul Mate off. There is a catch, if he also wronged her and did not say. He wanted to blame her than both Souls will become damaged instead of hers." The Reaper said.

Daiki felt a bad premonition about what was going on. He did not want to continue.

"If your Soul Mate decided to have sex with a Butler. Would you hurt her? What if you had sex with a maid? Would you still be able to feel sane?" The Reaper asked.

"Why worry about stuff that does not matter. My wife is the only one who I will have sex with." Daiki said.

"It is not about who I will or I will not. It is about more than that. A man with a pretty wife, you would die before anyone knows and your wife is beaten until she accepts multiple men." The Reaper replied.

Hearing that, Daiki felt mad. He did not want his wife to be hurt and feel heartbroken about his death.

"Remember, sometimes what happens with other people affects what you achieve." The Reaper gave a slight bow and Daiki woke up after two days of enlightenment.
